The LOST Art Festival, which attracted 17,000 visitors in 2017 with a large art exhibition, performances and artist talks in the former Willner Brewery in Berlin-Pankow, will take place again after a three-year planning phase. From 24 to 26 September 2021, the initiators, artists and curators invite you to the Umspannwerk Reinickendorf, a 100-year-old industrial monument that is otherwise inaccessible to the public. DEEDS is giving away 2 x 2 private viewing tickets for 23 September. More below.

LOST offers an intensive art and music experience for 48 hours. A total of 80 musicians and artists will transform 6,000 square metres of the industrial monument into an intensive art experience. Among them Berghain resident Norman Nodge, who will close the LOST Art Festival with his gig on Sunday evening, and well-known visual artists such as Christopher Bauder (Lichtgrenze / DEEP WEB / Skalar). Each of the 24 exhibition rooms of the huge exhibition THE DARK ROOMS will be staged by a different artist. In the process, the work is created in interaction with the existing spaces. This exhibition is therefore something unique and cannot be repeated in this form.

Trailer – LOST ART Festival

The 100-year-old transformer station in Reinickendorf is a fascinating object of the kind that is becoming increasingly rare in Berlin. Catacomb cellars, endless halls and hidden spaces – for two days, all the premises that were previously inaccessible will be opened up. The visitors can discover the hidden places on the site on their own. The path through the substation is 1 km long. As the exhibition title THE DARK ROOMS promises, these spaces are darkened. Only the artworks are illuminated. Thus the visitor becomes an “invisible” observer. The audience experiences losing itself in the dark rooms and slowing down the pace of perceiving art.

The organisers of the LOST Art Festival are planning the WAYSA STAGE in the courtyard of the Umspannwerk. During the day it will be a live music stage and from 10 pm a stage for techno open air. In a backyard of the industrial area there will be the “hidden stage” with a hidden open air between high brick walls. Both areas will present their programme without breaks around the clock for a full 48 hours at a stretch.

The “48 h” cinema is occupied from midday until late at night by the streaming platform for independent films “behind the tree”. However, there are breaks between films. Namely after the last film after 1:00 a.m. until noon.

The art exhibition THE DARK ROOMS inside the substation will also be closed to visitors from 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. and will reopen at 11:00 a.m.

To the lineup with all times THIS WAY PLEASE.

LOST is a non-commercial arts festival. It lives from the artists and musicians who passionately transform this old site and building with their art for the visitors. All participants only work for an expense allowance in order to keep the ticket price as low as possible for the visitors. Due to the current Corona situation and for the safety of the visitors, the number of tickets is very limited. It is therefore worth booking one of the slots early.
