DEEDS CALENDAR: The Assault of the Present on the Rest of Time – Artistic Testimonies of War and Repression – Schinkel Pavillon | until 07.01.2024
Schinkel Pavillon presents from 14 September 2023 the exhibition The Assault of the Present on the Rest of Time. Artistic Testimonies of War and Repression. It shows historical and contemporary positions that address state violence and repression. The focus is on the moment of witnessing. Works from the 1930s and 1940s by Maria Luiko, Johanna Schütz-Wolff or Felix Nussbaum enter into a dialogue with the works of contemporary artists such as Simone Fattal, Dana Kavelina or Lawrence Abu Hamdan. The project is a cooperation between the Brücke Museum and the Schinkel Pavillon and takes place within the framework of Berlin Art Week 2023.
