Haus Schwarzenberg in Berlin-Mitte invites you to the 30th anniversary of the cultural project on 14 June 2025.

The association writes:
‘When monsters eat cake with dead chickens … that sounds absurd at first. But ‘if an idea does not sound absurd at first, then there is no hope for it’, according to Albert Einstein. We are celebrating 30 years of Haus Schwarzenberg! Of course also at the Hoffest 2025! Founded in 1995 by committed cultural workers and members of the Dead Chickens artists’ group, whose kinetic, monstrously beautiful sculptures still adorn the building today, Schwarzenberg e.V. is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Three decades of independent art and culture in Haus Schwarzenberg stand for realised ideas – and give hope!’
The courtyard festival programme for the 30th anniversary of Haus Schwarzenberg presents a diverse selection of cultural events. ROC ROCIT, known for its street and performance art, brings pure joie de vivre to the stages of the house with a mixture of cabaret, theatre, circus and freak show. The anniversary exhibition ‘Nerotitan:B-Side’ in the Neurotitan offers an oasis of creative design with live drawing performances and a DIY print workshop. For younger visitors, there will be an animated film workshop and shows in the Monsterkabinett. The Tattoo Berlin event presents live tattoos in collaboration with eddylirious ink, while the SNIPER Art Kiosk provides refreshments and CC.Gambeex’s PonteCarlo serves selected dishes.
Multi-layered soundscapes stretch across the entire Haus Schwarzenberg: In Many Tentacles, Katov Syn(th), Dikolson and Roman Dzacar present a mixture of field recordings and experimental acoustic electronics. Atxa will play the Eschschloraque with cross-genre beats and atmospheric sounds before the main acts take over the third courtyard live. VORISCHT KINDER, known as the founders of Alkopop, bring intense stage shows to the stage with Dadaist-feminist lyrics and expressive performances. Chris Imler, legendary drummer and musician, is known for dynamic live performances between avant-garde and art-pop. Cmba & Courtroom Drama will conclude the evening with experimental sound designs and deep bass for the after-show at Eschschloraque.
‘The monsters will dance again this year – noisily, groaning – just as they have done for decades. Their mechanics symbolise the artistic freedom in Berlin’s Mitte district. The Hoffest is an expression of lust, intoxication and lovable freaks who are on fire for art – a creative, charmingly bizarre avant-garde art explosion, noisy and passionate. As a self-portrayal of the artist group VORSICHT KINDER puts it: ‘Fuck the Banana!’ – an exclamation that succinctly summarises their Dadaist-feminist attitude.’

The Eschschloraque is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2025 together with Schwarzenberg e.V. and is taking part in the courtyard festival with its own programme. The coffee bar, cocktail bar and summer bar in the third courtyard will open from 2 pm. The musical programme starts at 4 pm with a DJ set by Atxa, a Chilean-French artist who has been active in the scene since 2020. His sets are characterised by a passion for vinyl, fast beats and atmospheric sounds and combine different genres to create a varied listening experience.

The second anniversary exhibition at Neurotitan focuses on the artistic production of selected female artists, whose works are also available in the shop. The result is a platform beyond commercial printing with works that consciously stand out from the conventional product range – including experimental prints, drawings, paintings, ceramics and installations. Between 2 and 4 pm, the Tattoo Berlin event offers a children’s stick-on tattoo programme with eddylirious ink. From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., there will be further hands-on activities with participating artists and guests, including a live drawing performance The Magic Box by Xuehka and a DIY print workshop.

Roc RocIt, known for his many years of work in street and performance art, performs in every nook and cranny of the courtyards at the Hoffest. His programme combines elements of theatre, circus, cabaret, burlesque and street art. In his own words, he describes his art form as ‘something between circus and sideshow’ that suits every audience. With a juggling box and fire show, he brings a cross-generational entertainment programme to the site.
