With its seventh edition from 11 April to 13 April 2025, Art Düsseldorf is consolidating its position as a dynamic art fair in the German-speaking world. This year’s edition presents 108 galleries, including – in addition to 75 galleries that have been regularly represented for several years – 33 first-time participants.

The list of galleries wants to confirm the fair’s role as a platform for outstanding artistic positions, discoveries and important discourses in contemporary art.

A diverse programme with international appeal
With 108 participating galleries, the fair has a broad international base. A total of 32 galleries are located outside Germany, including galleries such as Mennour and Pace. The diversity of the countries represented is particularly noteworthy: In addition to eight galleries from Austria, galleries from Japan, South Africa, Korea, Kuwait, the USA, Portugal, Turkey, Slovakia, Italy, Belgium, France, Spain and other countries are also represented.
34 galleries from the Rhineland are taking part (Düsseldorf: 20, Cologne: 12, Bonn: 2). Galerie Ludorff is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a special presentation.

In the Next section, 17 galleries will present their programme, including ten that are represented at Art Düsseldorf for the first time. The Solo and Projects section comprises 16 solo and project presentations on the themes of Love is the Answer and Liminal State.
Focus on Japan at Art Düsseldorf 2025
After London and Paris, the Japanese community in Düsseldorf is one of the largest in Europe. Following the presentation of the anonymous art project from Tokyo in 2024, this focus will be continued this year. The anonymous art project returns with six current Japanese positions.

The Julia Stoschek Collection is showing Simon Fujiwara at its own stand, and the Masumi Gallery from Tokyo is also represented. Other important artistic positions from Japan can be seen in various sections: Takako Saito at boa-basedonart, Asana Fujikawa at Galerie Friese, Noriko Amba at AOA;87 and Haruko Maeda at Elektrohalle Rhomberg.Curatorial sections set thematic priorities
This is a strong signal for international networking and the importance of Japanese art on the world market.
Curatorial sections set thematic priorities
In 2025, Art Düsseldorf is reinforcing its claim to offer orientation in the trade fair programme through clear curatorial concepts and to enable inspiring art experiences. The different sections structure the fair and open up new perspectives.

Walter Gehlen, Director of Art Düsseldorf, emphasises the importance of the curatorial approach: ‘A well thought-out curatorial signature structures the exhibition programme and invites visitors to make targeted discoveries. The thematic sections of Art Düsseldorf set thematic anchor points, provide orientation and draw attention to special positions.’
