SUNDOWNER-BAR on the terrace of the Neue Nationalgalerie
Every Friday and Saturday from 24 June to 27 August from 6 to 10 p.m., the “MIES-liwska” bar designed by the artist Karsten Konrad will open on the terrace of the Neue Nationalgalerie for all visitors and offer drinks and music. The sculptural bar created especially for the museum’s terrace is based on architectural designs by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. It refers directly to the architecture of the Neue Nationalgalerie with its black and white colour concept and references to the iconic roof construction. The name of the bar “MIES-liwska” is a reference to the “Mysliwska” bar run by Karsten Konrad and Hannes Gruber, which has existed in Kreuzberg for over 30 years in close connection with Berlin’s art academies.
