On 24 June 2025, the photo exhibition ‘Arbeitsort: Markthalle’ by photographer Carla Ulrich will open at Markthalle Neun in Berlin-Kreuzberg. The exhibition provides photographic insights into the work processes behind the market stalls. A few days later, on 28 June 2025, the hall invites you to the ‘Open Doors’ event – with access to the daily processes, spaces and stories surrounding the historic building.

Opening of the exhibition ‘Workplace: Market Hall’
The photo exhibition ‘Workplace: Market Hall’ by Carla Ulrich will open on 24 June 2025. The exhibition documents work processes within the market hall, including setting up stalls, transporting goods and manual labour. The photographs are on display in the interior of the hall.
At the opening, visitors are invited to take part in tours and talk to those involved.
‘Open doors’ in Markthalle Neun
Operations in the market hall begin at 6 a.m.: the doors are opened, the oven is put into operation, goods are delivered and the first work processes are initiated.
Markthalle Neun combines market operations, artisanal production, educational programmes and cultural use in a listed building in Berlin-Kreuzberg. The aim of the event is to present processes and spaces that are not always visible in regular market operations. Visitors are given access to areas such as the brewery or the cellar rooms and receive information about the work processes and concepts of the participating actors.
The market team, traders, producers and other participants offer guided tours, talks and hands-on activities. The programme includes tours, a children’s programme with cooking school Neun and behind-the-scenes insights.
