The increased demand and the great interest of galleries in the fair can be seen not least in the considerable increase in international participants. In the impressive atrium of the Deutsche Telekom Capital Representation, paper positions berlin will focus on this special genre within art for the fourth time. The galleries and the artists they represent will have the opportunity to present their work in a way that is dedicated to the medium of paper with all its specific characteristics, its fragility and its enormous versatility.
Supporting programme
paper positions berlin will present the paper positions award by rka for the second time in 2020. The award recognizes an outstanding contemporary position on the subject of drawing and the medium of paper and includes a special presentation the following year. The first prizewinner was Hell Gette in 2019, who will show new works this year. In recent months in particular, the artist, who weaves symbols of everyday digital life into her fantastic and colourful visual subjects, has received a great deal of international attention. Part of the supporting programme will also be the curated special exhibition selected paper positions, in which selected artistic positions on the theme of drawing and the medium of paper will be presented. Talking Positions will also include discussions and panels.
