Hebbel am Ufer presents on Saturday, 13. and Sunday, 14. September 2025 the Danceperformance Unearth by the artist Jefta van Dinther in the St. Elisabeth-Kirche as part of the Berlin Art Week 2025. The acclaimed highlight of Tanz im August 2022 returns to HAU: Jefta van Dinther and an ensemble of ten dancers investigate the human desire to revive and relive through a meticulously composed choreography of body and voice. The hypnotic power of repetition captivates audiences, drawing them into a space of deep introspection.

In this distilled and durational performance, Berlin-based choreographer Jefta van Dinther examines the body as both medium and material, uncovering its vast psychological and physical capacities.
Ten dancers engage in a sustained exploration of movement and sound, inviting spectators to dwell within the intensity of repetition and its transformative potential. Unearth illuminates kinship, meaning, and mortality as constructs shaped by both social and spiritual forces.
Following its celebrated premiere at Tanz im August 2022, Unearth now inaugurates A Queer Divine Dissatisfaction, a November retrospective at HAU1 and HAU2 showcasing a selection of van Dinther’s most influential works since 2010.
