Artificial intelligence and algorithms play a central role in the imaging of the human body today. AFF Galerie shows the multi-layered influences of AI in the exhibition CODED BODIES.

With “Techno Bodies”, Ivonne Thein reflects on body images in our technologised digital culture. Alexander Kadow’s work “The Individual Below”, based on X-ray images and digitally generated interpretations of these, addresses the relationship of the individual to data sets. Lina Scheyniu’s photographs of partly naked bodies on Instagram, on the other hand, are repeatedly censored by the algorithm, which questions not only the visibility but also the actual freedom of the, often female, body.
