BUNKER WEST BERLIN shows from 12th September 2024 the exhibition Liquid Obsession by the artist Márta Kucsora. The works of the Hungarian artist, whose profound explorations of liquid ecologies stimulate a dynamic dialogue between the viewer and nature itself, celebrate the evocative power of flow.

Márta Kucsora uses various liquids and bodies of water as fundamental elements of her practice, transforming them into captivating fluid ecologies. Her large-scale canvases are rich in multi-layered complexity, where artistic expression meets the fleeting interplay of natural forces.
The exhibition explores themes from Viola Lukacs’ work “In Conversation with Marta Kucsora: State of Convergence”. In this insightful dialogue, Kucsora reveals the intricacies of her journey from her Hungarian roots to the international art scene and explains how her practice explores the physicality of space and the fluidity of abstraction to reflect complex concepts such as quantum physics.
Kucsora’s works are a testament to her intuitive connection with the natural world. Each work reflects a non-linear narrative that challenges and redefines spatial and visual coherence. Kucsora’s works are in line with Zygmunt Bauman’s concept of ‘liquid modernity’, which describes the fluidity and fragmentation of contemporary society.
Each painting becomes a visual exploration of the themes of individualisation, globalisation and changing identities, inviting introspection and dialogue in which the boundaries between art, nature and man dissolve into new possibilities for aesthetic and intellectual debate.
