The exhibition The Eternal Network celebrates the global community of artists supported by the GlogauAIR online residency programme since 2020. It is a portrait of the international programme that materialises here in a group exhibition to listen to different voices and address complementary methodologies with artworks by former residents.
The group exhibition features works by Chema Alvargonzález (Spain) with works by Michalina W. Klasik (Poland), Hyunseo Cho (South Korea), Ellen-Rose Wallace (Ireland), Daniela Stubbs-Levi (Peru) and a collaborative work initiated by Aitor Lajarín Encina (Spain) and continued by Carlos Asensio, Sofia Bevione, Savanna Fortgang, Sergei Kurek, Elizabeth Littlejohn, Laura Olea Lopez, Julia Rigby and Mason Weiss.
The Eternal Network is inspired by Fluxus artist Robert Filliou and offers a unique opportunity to explore connection and the possibility of collaboration through telepathy, as seen in his 1976 installation “Musique Télépathique N°5”. Today, tools such as Zoom or shared mindmaps seem to serve as channels for this connection, making this “telepathy” visible through continuous interaction that fosters creation, critical thinking and the enrichment of multidisciplinary art practice. Filliou’s concept of permanent creation was profoundly influenced by Chema Alvargonzález, the founder of GlogauAIR, shaping not only his artistic practice but also the creation of La Escuelita – as GlogauAIR is known to Chema’s family and circle of friends, reminding us of the wide reach of the network he launched in 2006, which continues to inspire alongside his online program.
Visitors are invited to experience the exhibition at GlogauAIR, which brings together artists in an exchange that celebrates the diversity and openness that make up today’s Europe.
