Marion Ackermann, Director General of the Dresden State Art Collections: ‘Cornelia Rabeneck is an excellent choice. She has an impressive career, comes from Saxony and at the same time brings a fresh view from the outside from the perspective of university administration. I am certain that, thanks to her outstanding managerial qualities, she will master the many challenges facing a globally active museum organisation like the SKD and lead the diverse art collections into the future with agility and innovation.”
Cornelia Rabeneck: ‘I am looking forward to leading this internationally unique museum network together with the Director General and the employees through a time of great change. We are undergoing digital transformations worldwide that need to be shaped. The collections, which were one of the first in Europe to be made accessible to the public in the 18th century, have always characterised the image and culture of my home town. It is a matter close to my heart to preserve this tradition and at the same time make it fit for the future in order to safeguard the excellent quality and international significance of the Dresden State Art Collections for current and future generations.”
