The Klassik Stiftung Weimar is also participating with a wide-ranging program: guided tours through the museums take place in 15 participating houses in various locations. There is live music, DJ sets and other exciting program items. Offers for children and families invite them to play and experiment.

In 2024, the theme year of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar is under the motto „Auf/Bruch“ (“Up/Break”). A highlight of the year is the special exhibition Bauhaus and National Socialism. Visitors to the Long Night of Museums have the opportunity to view the exhibition at the three locations: Bauhaus Museum Weimar, Museum Neues Weimar and Schiller Museum. From 6 pm to midnight, experts are available in the houses to provide in-depth information. In the Museum Neues Weimar and the Bauhaus Museum Weimar there are “MACH-WITH-HEFTE” in German and English for children aged four and over, which invite them to discover the houses in a playful way. Digital enthusiasts can also try out the mobile game “Gropius Skate” at the Bauhau Museum Weimar and help the young Gropius balance Bauhaus furniture on a skateboard.

In Goethes Wohnhaus and in Goethe-Nationalmuseum, visitors will find an extensive program with music, light shows and culinary offerings. You can also discover the mobile game “Erlkönig Run”, in which players have to flee from the Erlkönig and successfully avoid obstacles. The Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek offers guided tours through the library’s catacombs, other tours and exciting library-related program items. In Schillers Wohnhaus and in Schiller-Museum, revelers young and old can use word cubes to create their own postcards on the theme of “Democracy” and play the mini-game „Tells Schuss“ (“Tells Shot”), where the aim is to hit as many apples as possible with a bow and arrow. The Co-Labor, the Parkhöhle, the Fürstengruft, the Römische Haus, the Haus Am Horn, the Wittumspalais and Goethes Gartenhaus also invite you to take guided tours from 6 pm to 9 pm.

For monument preservation reasons, it is necessary to limit the number of visitors to the museums. We ask for your understanding if there are waiting times. The various offerings in the houses of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar are limited. All participating houses will close at 4 p.m. on May 11, 2024, before reopening to visitors from 6 p.m. as part of the Long Night of Museums. The Wielandgut Oßmannstedt in Weimarer Land closes on May 11th from 3 pm to 4 pm and opens from 6 pm to 10 pm A guided tour of the barocke Gutshaus will take place from 5 pm to 7 pm.

On the same day, Galerie Wohnungsweimer celebrates its 18th anniversary. Until 2022, the owner was also based in Berlin (zeilenstrasse and Kantstrasse). The gallery about itself: “18 years young and finally grown up. Now that we are of age and therefore of legal age, we have shed our youth, established it as an institution and yet have not adapted, we are faced with the next challenges. So now things are getting serious – we have to face our responsibilities. As a space for contemporary art and communication, we are a place for social discourse and this is as necessary as it is rare today. For years we have been a network node for dozens of institutions and have been continually researching new developments in the arts. In doing so, we dare to strike a balance between cultural independence and existence on the art market – always with responsibility towards the artists. Annual thematic focuses with extensive group exhibitions alternate with artist and curator in residence programs, trade fair appearances or guest exhibitions at home and abroad…
There is so much to tell, so much to reflect on – on Saturday, May 11th from 2 pm EIGHENHEIM will not only honor the last day of the current exhibition, no, they will also play art in the Weimarhallenpark, have musicians and DJs as guests and celebrate the Langen Nacht der Museen in Weimar together with many guests.”
