FAIR IN ST. AGNES | KÖNIG GALERIE | 17.06.-26.06.2020

Editors’ Choice

From 17 to 26 June, the KÖNIG GALERIE will be holding the MESSE IN ST. AGNES in the former St. Agnes Church in Berlin-Kreuzberg – naturally in compliance with current safety regulations. It is the first art fair in the premises of the KÖNIG GALERIE, which gallery owner Johann König is setting up with a lot of his own initiative.

On display are over 180 works by artists such as Katharina Grosse, Alicja Kwade, Wolfang Tillmans, Gerhard Richter and Andy Warhol. All works are for sale and many works come from private collections outside Berlin. It is one of the gallery’s most elaborate projects to date.

Over 100 works of art by Elmgreen & Dragset, Alicja Kwade, Neo Rauch, Daniel Richter, Isa Genzken, Martin Kippenberger, Otto Piene and Katharina Grosse, among others, will be on display and available for purchase.

In mid-June, ART BASEL will be presenting its second fair in the format of an online viewing room, after the physical art fair was cancelled due to current restrictions. In addition to the digital presentation, KÖNIG GALERIE will also be showing its Art Basel selection in real life in the Chapel of St. Agnes. In addition, saleable 20th and 21st century works from the primary and secondary markets will be presented in the gallery’s Saleroom. Some selected works will be on view in the online Saleroom at www.koeniggalerie.com as well as via the gallery’s app.

The fair will be complemented by the culinary offerings of the Michelin-starred restaurant Nobelhart & Schmutzig and a stand of the Walther König bookshop. The Walther König bookshop, founded in 1969, is a publishing bookshop for art and art science, architecture, decorative arts, design, fashion, photography, film and art theory, as well as for exhibition catalogues, with its headquarters in Cologne. Walther König is the uncle of the gallery owner Johann König

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to the current situation regarding the Covid 19 epidemic, the fair can only be visited after booking a ticket (10 / 8 euros). The gallery only allows a limited number of visitors into the premises at any one time. There is a strict ban on photography.
