The exhibition of 69 paintings is housed on the third floor. It includes works from the various schools of painting. Among the artists present are El Greco, Titian, Veronese, Rubens, Zurbarán, Velázquez, Murillo, Ribera, Goya, Fortuny and Sorolla, with Goya, to whom one of the sections is dedicated, playing the leading role.
The exhibition is completed by the loan of the Mona Lisa, which can be seen in the special ‘In Focus’ section on the first floor. A short presentation has been organised around this work, giving an insight into the history of the painting from the 18th century – when it was in the Royal Collections – until its restoration in the Prado in 2011.
