Berlin is in football fever this summer, and the Humboldt Forum will also be all about the ball on 29 and 30 June: at table football tables, in exhibition tours, in the picture book cinema or at the public viewing. Visitors can compete with the best in table football or pick up tricks and tips from the champions.

Where in the world did ball games, rituals and sacrifices belong together? What does fair play actually mean? And what are tic-tac and pinshot in table football? During the themed weekend on the occasion of the European Football Championship in Berlin, visitors will gain insights into the historical game culture of Mesoamerica during special guided tours. They can design their own fan jersey in the workshops. Football stories are told in a picture book cinema for children aged 3 and over. And everyone can round off the football day at the Humboldt Forum with a mini public viewing in the Schlüterhof on 30 June.

Table football: show games and Beat the Champ in the foyer
Champions and visitors will let the balls fly on 30 June. At table football tournaments, all table football enthusiasts can play with the pros Sarah Riebschläger, Justus Aust and Ben Thieme or watch them play a show game. Tips and tricks for the next tournament are also available in the table football workshop.
Champions on site:
Sarah Riebschläger plays in the Yard Berlin women’s national league. She won the German women’s doubles championship in 2021 and became world champion with the women’s national team in 2022.
Justus Aust plays for the New Way Cubs in Berlin. He is a multiple German junior champion, runner-up in the junior world championships, a member of the junior national team and first-placed in the Berlin men’s rankings.
Ben Thieme plays in the men’s national league for the New Way Cubs. He became German U16 doubles champion in 2020. Since then, he has been collecting trophies in the open men’s class, most recently winning the open singles at the Prague Masters 2023.
