Marcel Buehler was born in 1969 in Mülheim an der Ruhr and lives and works in Berlin. He completed his studies at the HGB in Leipzig. Buehler is a conceptual artist whose works explore themes of contemporary life with humor and disrespect. For him, his art is like travelling: He finds being on the way a torture and looks forward to the retrospective, which shows him that he is still alive. His practice encompasses a wide range of media, but over the years two main focal points have emerged: sculptural light sculptures and collages. Solo exhibitions among others: Kosmos at Galerie Andrae Kaufmann, Berlin (2012), Germany and The One Trick Pony at Galerie Martin Mertens, Munich (2011). Group exhibitions among others: Liaison in the Uferhallen, Berlin, Germany, A New Language in the Observer Building, Hastings, UK, Young Collections 03 in the Museum Weserburg, Bremen, Germany, and Los Angeles (Berlin – LA Trilogie III) in the Galerie Kornfeld, Berlin, Germany.
