paper positions 2019 (Photo: Clara Wenzel Theiler)
From 19 to 22 August 2021, paper positions berlin will open its doors near the Gendarmenmarkt in the Deutsche Telekom Hauptstadt Repräsentanz for collectors, art enthusiasts and, of course, the trade and press.

With its fifth edition, paper positions berlin presents 49 international exhibitors. On show are outstanding positions of contemporary and modern art on the theme of drawing and the medium of paper.

paper positions berlin will award a new art prize starting in 2021: the PAPER ART AWARD. This prize is sponsored and made possible by Canon, d’mage and Hahnemühle. In future, it will be awarded annually at paper positions in Berlin. The Paper Art Award is given to artists who deal with the material paper in an outstanding, stimulating and independent way. The prize money, worth a total of 36,000 euros, will be used for the purchase of works by the award-winning artists by the newly founded Paper Art Museum “Haus des Papiers” in Berlin.
Since 2019, paper positions berlin, together with RKA Rechtsanwälte Hamburg/Berlin, has been presenting the paper positions award. The award, which is given exclusively to female artists, recognises an outstanding contemporary position on the subject of drawing and the medium of paper and includes a special presentation in the following year. The first prize winner in 2019 was Hell Gette, in 2020 Iris Schomaker was awarded.
