As part of the exhibition “BREATHING WATER, DRINKING AIR,” the Philara Collection presents a performance by artist Hicham Berrada. The PRÉSAGE series brings together aquatic landscapes chemically activated in glass tanks like hermetic little worlds.

Worlds made out of minerals immersed in an aqueous solution, with the artist deploying a whole range of components according to the colours and shapes he hopes to bring into existence. The chemical reactions and compositions are filmed and appear above them on a live projection, while an invited musician creates sounds. The music is played live by Düsseldorf-based musician Thomas Klein, who is also known as a solo artist under the name SØLYST and as part of the band KREIDLER.
The performance is an ongoing series by artist Hicham Berrada (*1986 in Casablanca, Morocco; lives and works in Roubaix, France), who is performing himself. It has previously been shown at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris, at MO.CO. Panacée, Montpellier, at ICAS, Singapore and at Palazzo Grassi, Venice, among others.
