As part of Berlin Art Week this autumn, Hallen 07 brings together well over 30 participants, including exhibitions by leading German art institutions, international corporate art collections, galleries, artists and designers, as well as a programme of performances.

The SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE FRANKFURT, taking part for the first time, is presenting the impressive video installation Future of Yesterday by Bárbara Wagner & Benjamin de Burca, which premiered there earlier this year. For this work, the duo has collaborated with the straight-edge scene in the region. The Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, a cultural flagship of the city, is another new addition to the art festival. The museum is showing a large-scale, immersive video installation by one of Berlin’s most prominent artists: Julian Charrière. The groundbreaking work Albedo was filmed exclusively beneath the ice cover and amongst drifting icebergs in the Arctic Ocean using artificial light, and explores the boundaries between the deep sea and outer space. Villa Merkel, the gallery of the city of Esslingen, is also taking part in Hallen for the first time and is presenting an adapted version of a solo exhibition by the Chilean-Peruvian artist Ivana de Vivanco, which was on display at the museum in the spring. As a returning partner of the Hallen Art Festival, the Berlinische Galerie – one of Berlin’s most renowned art institutions – is presenting a curated selection of works by the Korean-German artist Jeewi Lee, who is also being introduced at the institution as the winner of the 2026 GASAG Art Prize as part of Berlin Art Week.
Alongside major public institutions, Hallen continues to welcome corporate art collections exhibiting at the festival. Taking part for the fifth time is the Telekom Art Collection with Tobias Putrih’s interactive installation Mudam Studio, which encourages visitors to participate in the creation of a large-scale sculpture on site. In addition, ‘Monstera’ by Nilbar Güreş will be on display – a sculpture whose leaves and copper wires extend into the space like tentacles. The Mercedes-Benz Art Collection returns to Hallen with an exhibition exploring forms at the intersection of abstraction, offering a foretaste of its 50th anniversary in 2027. The Arab Bank Switzerland Art Collection, participating for the first time and specialising in digital art, will exhibit three works by artists from its collection, including a large-scale LED installation by the Swiss artist Andreas Gysin. Also making its debut is the Kienbaum Collection. To mark the 20th edition of its own artist’s book series, three artists will present works that illustrate the interplay between artistic creation and book design. These include Gregor Hildebrandt’s installation Pawn Shop, in which visitors can purchase individual chess pieces in a space designed by the artist.
Bocci is hosting its second major design exhibition in its showrooms. Curated by Anna Carnick, the exhibition The Overview Effect takes its title from the profound shift in consciousness that astronauts experience when they look down at Earth from space. The group exhibition explores how art and design can reconnect us with nature, with one another, and with our shared future on this planet. The Hallen Guest Artist, Christian Jankowski, will present a selection from his ‘Luftschlösser’ series, which comprises neon works for both indoor and outdoor settings.
With 15 entries, commercial galleries continue to make up the majority of participants at Hallen. Returning galleries include Esther Schipper, ChertLüdde, Nagel Draxler, Mehdi Chouakri, OFFICE IMPART, Russi Klenner, Galerie Gegen & Lücke and Robert Grunenberg, joined by first-time participants such as EXO Gallery from Stuttgart, Schenkweitzdörfer from Cologne, Galerie Mathias Güntner from Hamburg and Galerie Burster from Berlin. Highlights include a Daniel Spoerri dinner with limited attendance, hosted by LEVY Galerie in honour of the late artist, a pioneer of the Eat Art movement; and a group exhibition by Galerie Nothelfer, largely dedicated to the Art Informel movement. As in previous editions, the elongated Matchstick Room will host an art fair-style presentation featuring a selection of the participating commercial galleries.
As every year, a variety of events will be taking place throughout the week as part of the 7th edition of Hallen. The art magazine Kunstforum International is offering a zine workshop and presenting a performance by the Düsseldorf-based artist SOFF. Core Athens, a newly founded art collective from Greece, is presenting a preview of its second group exhibition, entitled ‘The Kitchen Party’, which is set to open in Athens. Once again this year, The Company will be performing two dance pieces amongst the artworks at Hallen 07. At the weekends, there will be live music on site, featuring, amongst others, DJ Annett Gapstream, Chinwezz and DJ Julean. Original Feelings is organising a yoga session, and exhibiting artist Sonja Yakovleva will lead a paper-cutting workshop, to which all visitors are warmly invited. Hallen 07 is also delighted to present The CUNTemporary Kiki Ball Part II – a voguing contest in collaboration with Father Dante Telfar and Joana Juicy Couture. The DSO Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester returns this year with a series of chamber music concerts taking place as part of the exhibitions at Hallen 07. The Literaturhaus Berlin, taking part for the first time, is hosting a reading by the author Hannah Siecksmeier. In collaboration with the Mehdi Chouakri Gallery, the estate of the late minimalist artist Charlotte Posenenske is presenting a performance featuring the artist’s works, whilst the Mathias Güntner Gallery is hosting a tattoo performance by Franziska Nast, during which a limited-edition tattoo entitled ‘tropical touch’ – depicting a palm tree – will be available.
