Meyer Riegger is opening new premises in Seoul, South Korea, in September 2024. The gallery, which is based in Berlin, Karlsruhe and Basel and has a temporary collaboration in New York, is thus expanding its international presence. With the location in the Gangnam district, Meyer Riegger is taking over the premises of Galerie Efremidis and expanding its art network in Asia with Tom Woo, who is joining Meyer Riegger as Director. A number of artists are also joining Meyer Riegger’s gallery programme.

With the branch in Seoul, we want to create new relationships and a broader public for our artists. Opening up to Asia also enables us to learn new things. We chose South Korea because there is an active art and gallery scene there that has been growing since the 1950s, and not least because the country has a democratic constitution. The first exhibition in Seoul is dedicated to Horst Antes, who is one of the most important representatives of post-war modernist figurative painting and sculpture and has been part of the gallery programme since this spring,’ note Jochen Meyer and Thomas Riegger.
