Verein der Berliner Künstlerinnen 1867 e.V. presents the exhibition Shapes of nature, Friederike Jokisch and Uta Reinhardt from 6 July 2024. Friederike Jokisch and Uta Reinhardt continue the exhibition series shapes of nature, which was already shown in 2022 at the Nicole Gnesa Gallery in Munich. The artists do not approach nature with an art programme, but with a strong sense of feeling and a painterly nerve. Through contemplation and encounter, shapes of nature emerge, in which landscape, figure and animal find their part.

They are reflections of nature and residual nature; constructions of colour spots, surface, space and light. They are artificial landscapes that approach the nature of nature; they also show the loss of emotional security in a world permeated by natural anomalies and the relationship between man and nature as fragile, man’s perspective as distant from nature. The image recedes in these pictures – reality is translated into colour perception and made visible through it.
Friederike Jokisch and Uta Reinhardt met 13 years ago during a scholarship in Italy and quickly realised how openly and freely they could exchange ideas. They are painters through and through in similar and completely different ways.
