From 15 September 2024, the PEAC Museum will present the first comprehensive institutional solo exhibition of French artist Elodie Seguin (*1984 in Paris, lives and works there) in Germany. Under the title Elodie Seguin. Look Loop, the versatile and cross-genre work of the artist will be presented. Seguin’s artistic practice plays with the vocabulary of abstract painting and sculpture without being categorised in either genre. In her abstract-geometric wall works, reliefs, objects and (immersive) spatial installations, Seguin explores the interplay of colours, the spatial effect of contrasts and the impact of light and transparency. The artist systematically differentiates between the relationship between form and colour and changes the appearance of the colours by superimposing them.

Elodie Seguin is creating a unique exhibition route for the PEAC Museum that encompasses the entire exhibition space and transforms each room into a new work. In her works, the artist refers directly to the architectural characteristics and conditions of the exhibition spaces. With Elodie Seguin. Look Loop is the first exhibition in the PEAC Museum’s history to be created exclusively on site.

ABOUT THE PEAC MUSEUM
The PEAC Museum is an exhibition venue for modern and contemporary art with regularly changing exhibitions. The museum is located in Freiburg on the premises of the Alexander Bürkle company, which is run by the third generation of the Ege family. The exhibition rooms, which opened in 2004 under the name “Kunstraum Alexander Bürkle”, cover around 1,000 square metres. In 2019, the former Kunstraum was renamed the PEAC Museum.
ABOUT THE CURRENT EXHIBITION
Until 21 July, the PEAC Museum is showing the anniversary exhibition Between White Walls… | 20 Years PEAC Museum – an exhibition in two acts to mark its 20th anniversary. The exhibition tells the story of a collection: it traces the lines of development from the passion of an individual to a museum as an open and lively place for everyone. In addition to the collection, the exhibition presents the works of this year’s winner of the Paul Ege Art Prize, Kelly Tissot.
The exhibition is curated by Lea Altner, who took over the management of the PEAC Museum in February 2023 as dual leadership with Eveline Weber (currently on parental leave).
