The tributes state: “The Polish-born dancer is sensational as Emma Bovary, and the production breathes with her. Frodyma succeeds in vividly tracing the development of the unhappy heroine: from the naïve provincial beauty who escapes into kitschy, romantic fantasy worlds to the bored adulteress. In doing so, she unfolds the whole range of emotions: longing and pining, romantic exaltation, the frenzy of lust – and finally disillusionment, the plunge into gloom and despair.”

“It’s not difficult to make a dramaturgy contemporary. But recognizing when you can demand classicism from an ensemble and when you can expect modernity from it is a great art. Spuck can expect a lot from his dancers, not only from the stars, but also from the corps de ballet. You have to take your hat off to what this ensemble can do, how multi-layered, diverse and curious it is, despite its technical brilliance.”
