On Saturday, August 24, 2024, Berlin will become the stage for “Berlin Secrets” during the Long Night of Museums. 75 museums in the capital invite you to discover the hidden, closed, almost forgotten and wicked. Under the motto “Berlin Secrets”, visitors can expect mysterious, creepy and spicy experiences. Paintings are revealed, turned upside down and illuminated in a fascinating way. Spectacular finds in Berlin’s underground, secret doors and escape tunnels reveal long-kept secrets. At the Bröhan Museum, the codes of Berlin painter Hans Baluschek are deciphered, while the Akademie der Künste provides an exclusive insight into the Schaudepot, which will open at the end of 2024. In the Neues Museum you can follow the trail of the hidden god Amun, while in the Stasi Museum a recently discovered sensation on Erich Mielke’s office floor is causing a stir and speculation. Newcomers this year include Fotografiska Berlin, f³ – freiraum für fotografie, the Mitte Museum and the Museum Blindenwerkstatt Otto Weidt.

Young Euro Classic, the Berlin festival of international youth orchestras, will be a guest at Treffpunkt Museumsinsel, offering a diverse program of Scottish folk, township jazz from South Africa, Indian qawwali music and overtone singing from the Mongolian steppe. Throughout the evening, staff will be on hand to provide visitors with tips, advice and refreshments.

Late night specials from 11 p.m. provide unforgettable experiences. For example, a musical performance in a ruined lecture hall or a murder mystery reading with the “Murderous Sisters”. Those who still have energy afterwards can dance the night away at a salsa party or a voguing ball.

Shuttle buses on five lines take visitors to museums outside Berlin-Mitte. Historical BVG buses run on two lines The shuttle in the north, which runs to children’s museums and the Museum für Naturkunde, is particularly interesting for families.
