In her model-like replicas of existing buildings, the artist examines the social relationships of the individuals living in them. The sculptures are often staged with light and sound effects while video clips are shown on built-in monitors. Tracey Snelling’s objects and installations refer to the complexity of a world in which images are omnipresent and interchangeable and in which fictions increasingly overlap and merge with reality.

A unifying element of the sculptures in the “How We Live” exhibition is the theme of social housing, i.e. state-subsidised construction projects and the associated social issues. For the “Haus am Lützowplatz” art association, the “How We Live” project is directly linked to a social housing project on the site of the former car park, which will be realised from spring 2025 after a planning phase lasting several years. A permanent exhibition was set up in the studio gallery in February 2024.
