Following his recent exhibitions “Shelf Life” (MoMA 2020) and “Hustle Harder” (MCA Australia 2023), internationally renowned choreographer and dancer Adam Linder is bringing his approach to performance installations into the black box of a theater for the first time: “Skin Contact” is a minimalist study of the strange intimacy of dance, on view from Sunday, December 1 to Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

Two protagonists stand in the center of the stage: their movements are subtle, nuanced and precise. They glide between naturalistic, athletic, animalistic and digital levels. In “Skin Contact”, artists Brooke Stamp and Juan Pablo Cámara – who have been collaborating with Adam Linder for several years – embody both themselves and others on an unfolding journey. Glitchy and anticipatory, they reveal their (non-)human relationships through desire, rejection and empathy in an immersive, mysterious stage setting.
