Crossroads# Literature meets Art – Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart | 20.02.2025

Hamburger Bahnhof is expanding its free programme in collaboration with Literaturhaus Berlin with the event series “Crossroads# Literature meets Art”, kicking off on 20 February 2025 with Helene Hegemann and Daniel Richter.

Art and literature meet in the “Crossroads#” event series: writers meet painters, sculptors meet authors, multimedia art meets poetry; their paths cross in the museum. The Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart, once a railway station building and later a transport museum, is now a museum of contemporary art located on the former border between East and West Berlin.

It sees itself as a hub and transit area for shaping future perspectives. In 2025, the Literaturhaus Berlin will also make a stop at Hamburger Bahnhof as part of its “Li-Be for the City” tour. “Crossroads#” stand for crossroads where creative people from different disciplines and backgrounds come together to provide impetus for new social goals – a central characteristic of both art and the city of Berlin.

Writer Helene Hegemann and artist Daniel Richter will kick off the new series of readings at the museum on Thursday, 20 February 2025. Over the course of the year, Lena Gorelik, Cemile Sahin and Tonio Schachinger, among others, will meet at “Crossroads#”.

The event series is curated by Mathilda Legemah, Institutional Development Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart, in cooperation with the Literaturhaus Berlin.
