With “E & U”, Galerie Kremers and Galerie ART CRU Berlin present their first collaborative exhibition project. International artistic positions from Canada, the USA and Europe come together: established art (“E”) and Outsider Art (“U”) – deliberately without hierarchy and with space for new perspectives.

Under the title E & U, the two Berlin galleries initiate a dialogue that questions conventional artistic categories and value systems. The name references the German distinction between E- and U-music (serious and popular music) and transfers it playfully into the field of visual art. The aim is to highlight the diversity of artistic expression while broadening participation.

The exhibition presents works by 38 artists – ranging from previously undiscovered positions to world-renowned names such as Pablo Picasso. Among them are Mary T. Bevlock, Jude Griebel, Evelyne Postic and Marita Müller. The latter will be showing her mysterious works in Berlin for the first time, based on childhood memories in the GDR and addressing themes such as disability, womanhood and German-German history. Her unique method, which always begins with looking through a glass bead, lends the works a distinctive sense of orientation and focus.
Other contributions highlight the wide scope of the exhibition: Jude Griebel interweaves themes of landscape, environment and consumerism in detailed sculptures. Evelyne Postic, an award-winning self-taught artist from Lyon, creates hybrid beings of human, animal and plant in meticulously detailed drawings as poetic reflections on adaptation and transformation. Mary T. Bevlock, meanwhile, uses bold colours and improvised lines to create quilted textile works in which she portrays well-known personalities.

The project is conceived as an encounter on equal footing. At both exhibition venues – Galerie ART CRU Berlin and Galerie Kremers – the works are presented side by side, in dialogue, or deliberately in contrast. This creates a field of tension that challenges the boundaries between academically trained art and autodidactic expression.
The exhibition is accompanied by artist talks, joint tours and panel discussions. In September 2026, E & U will travel to Turin, where Galerie GLI ACROBATI will present a special edition with selected works.
