Editors’ Choice

The art fair paper positions berlin, in its tenth edition, presents 70 international galleries showcasing outstanding works of contemporary and modern art, with a focus on drawing and the medium of paper. From April 30 to May 3, 2026, coinciding with Gallery Weekend in Berlin, paper positions berlin will once again take place in the over 2,500-square-meter main hall of the iconic Berlin-Tempelhof Airport.

In German-speaking countries, paper positions berlin is considered the only art fair where galleries present a broad spectrum of outstanding works from the present, modern, and 19th-century periods on and with paper. This offers collectors and visitors a concentrated and high-quality insight into this unique artistic medium.

Following the successes of previous years and the continuous growth in the number of participants, 70 galleries from 14 countries are expected this year. Exhibitors include those from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, Estonia, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Spain, and the USA (without representation).

The high number of new exhibitors is particularly striking. From Buenos Aires (Centro de Edición) to Paris (Galerie Eric Mouchet) and Vienna (Galerie Roberta Keil) to Barcelona (Tasneem Gallery), this year’s lineup transcends geographical boundaries, bringing global discourses and new trends in art to a venue steeped in historical travel. Among the new participants are Sina Stockebrand Kunsthandel from Veltheim, Petra Rinck Galerie from Düsseldorf, Galerie Bachlechner from Graz, Jörg Jung / sgr a from Cologne, and Schlieder Contemporary from Frankfurt.

At the same time, the return of numerous established galleries speaks to the fair’s continuity, close networking, and successful establishment in Berlin.

Special Exhibition 2026: Ceramic Positions!
The curated special exhibition “Ceramic Positions” focuses on another artistic material that—like paper—possesses a high degree of expressiveness despite its perceived fragility: ceramics. The selected works enter into a dialogue with the works on paper in the main part of the fair.
