To mark Gallery Weekend Berlin, which takes place this weekend from 1 May to 3 May 2026, artist Christian Awe is hosting an art brunch at his studio over two days.

Artist Christian Awe is hosting an art brunch at his studio in Rummelsburger Bucht on 2 and 3 May. The event will take place from 11 am to 4 pm. Admission is free.
Christian Awe (Berlin, 1978) is a contemporary German artist known for his abstract paintings characterised by intense colours, which blend influences from street art with abstract expressionism. He began working with graffiti following the fall of the Berlin Wall and later studied at the Berlin University of the Arts under figures such as Georg Baselitz and Daniel Richter.
His work is characterised by dynamic compositions built up from multiple layers of paint, in which he combines techniques such as acrylic painting, spray paint, ink and pouring. These layers create effects of movement, rhythm and depth, in which apparent randomness is carefully controlled.
His best-known series and works include pieces such as ‘Influx’ (for example, ‘Influx V’), ‘En Vie’, as well as individual works such as ‘Blue Vivant’, ‘Surge’, ‘Swell’ and ‘Cool Water’, which reflect his interest in the energy of colour and, more recently, in the depiction of water and its visual effects.
Throughout his career, he has exhibited internationally in cities such as Berlin, Miami, Los Angeles, Paris and Kyoto.
