ART X LAGOS aims to present and promote contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. It seeks to position Nigeria, and particularly Lagos, as a major cultural hub on the African continent and beyond. The fair provides a platform for emerging talents and established artists to showcase their works to an international audience of collectors, curators, and art lovers. Its focus lies on the diversity of artistic expression and the critical engagement with current issues.

History:
ART X LAGOS was founded in 2016 by Tokini Peterside-Schwebig. Since its inception, it has quickly developed into one of the most important meeting points for the presentation and trade of contemporary African art. The fair has played a vital role in increasing the visibility of Nigerian and African artists on the global stage while strengthening the local art infrastructure. The upcoming 2025 edition marks the fair’s tenth anniversary.
