This year the Staatskapelle Berlin, the former Kurbrandenburgische and Königliche Preußische Hofkapelle, celebrates its 450th anniversary. No other orchestra in Berlin is so closely associated with the city and its historical upheavals. “Also in these times we want to be there for our audience: If you cannot come to us, we will come to you”.

To put this announcement into practice, the Staatskapelle Berlin is leaving the opera house Unter den Linden and the other concert halls and heading out into the city right through the neighbourhood. More precisely: the former Hofkapelle will come to you and play in your courtyard. You can enjoy the music from your balconies or windows and be there live – in keeping with the motto “Please keep distance”.
As a neighbourhood you can apply for a farm concert by sending an e-mail to hofkonzerte@staatsoper-berlin.de, including a photo of the farm, contact details and a short explanation why your house community would be happy about this private concert.
In June, small chamber music formations consisting of members of the Staatskapelle Berlin will play court concerts of about 30 minutes duration twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The programme changes and is a surprise. The application period ends on May 20, and the eight dates in June will be drawn by lot from all applications. The Staatskapelle Berlin will contact the winners directly by May 22 for further organization. The musicians are looking forward to meeting you!
