Bardaouil and Fellrath founded artReoriented to rethink traditional models of cultural engagement. Their work focuses on the inclusivity of artistic and institutional practices and a revisionist approach to art history. Their curatorial projects are rooted in both contemporary global art and classical modernism. They have held teaching positions at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts (2008 – 2010), and the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts (2019), among others. Their diverse cultural and academic backgrounds enrich their collaborative model. Bardaouil, born in Lebanon, holds a PhD in Art History from the LMU in Munich and a Master’s degree in Theatre Practice from the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Fellrath, born in Germany, has two master’s degrees in economics and political science from the University of St. Gallen and the London School of Economics, and has been Professor of Design-Related Sciences at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg since 2021.
