Wentrup Shows “I Can’t Hear It Anymore” By Artist Olaf Metzel | 02.10.-13.11.2022

The exhibition I can’t hear it any more by Olaf Metzel consists of 50 editions published by galleries, art associations, museums, biennials or by the artist himself between 1985 and 2022.

On view are, among others, “Bondstore Lockers”, created from an installation on the occasion of the Sydney Biennale 1990, or “Besiktas Jimnastik Külübü”, realised in collaboration with Christoph Daum on the occasion of the Istanbul Biennale 1995.

For the sculptures, the artist used bronze, concrete, aluminium, wood, metal, wax and plastic, while the reproductions were produced as etchings, screen prints and photographs.

Olaf Metzel was born in Berlin in 1952. He taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, where he was rector from 1995 to 1999. Works by the award-winning artist, who has had numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, are in major international museums and collections as well as in public spaces. He curates exhibitions, publishes articles in magazines and newspapers and is the editor of numerous publications. He lives in Munich, Berlin and Marche in Italy.
