Rundgang 2024 – Annual exhibition of the weißensee academy of art berlin | 21.07. + 22.07.2024

The weißensee academy of art berlin will open its studios, workshops and laboratories on 20 and 21 July 2024 for the “Rundgang 2024 – Open Days”. Exhibitions in over 40 rooms as well as performances, films, lectures and guided tours will provide insights into the thematic worlds and work processes of 800 up-and-coming artists and designers.

What social, ecological and historical aspects should be taken into account when designing fashion today? How can intelligent fabrics and new materials contribute to cooling cities? How can colonial structures and Eurocentric perspectives in art be reflected and broken up? And how are robots and 3D printing changing the design process of young designers?

On the “Rundgang”, students from weißensee kunsthochschule berlin will present their projects and final theses from the 2023/24 academic year and provide answers to pressing questions of the future with innovative solutions.

The art academy, the neighbouring Kandinsky Haus and the Kunsthalle am Hamburger Platz will open their doors to the public on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July 2024 from 12 noon to 8 pm. A series of final presentations will begin a week earlier.

The Fashion Design department will kick things off on 11 July at 8 p.m. with the “seefashion24” fashion show in front of the Kunstgewerbemuseum. On 18 July from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., the master students and graduates of painting and sculpture invite you to the vernissage of the exhibition “Nothing is impossible” in the StadtWERKSTATT Berlin-Kreuzberg and transform the old barracks on the Dragonerareal into a lively space for reflection on the present. On 19 July at 6 pm, the evening before the tour, the Visual Communication graduates will open their final exhibition in the feldfünf project spaces not far from the Jewish Museum.

Admission to all exhibitions is free. Registration is required for “seefashion24”.
