For six decades, Dorothy Iannone (b. 1933, Boston – d. 2022, Berlin) has enchanted us with her vivid and energetic works portraying liberated and hedonist female and male figures. In Iannone’s world there were no rules, limits or sense of time. A fierce fighter for freedom and against censorship, Iannone leaves behind her a singular vision of female sexuality, not repressed or exploited, but radiantly alive, and an ecstatic and irresistible oeuvre that will long survive her.
Iannone’s work is currently on display at the Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg in Denmark.
