In the context of the exhibition “Sinnstifter” with paintings & sculptures by the artist Axel Teichmann, the nüüd.berlin gallery invites you to a “Workshop Talk & Reading” with Priyanka Ramdheen and Barbara Petermann on Friday, 3 February 2023 at 6.00 pm.

Priyanka Ramdheen, born as Marc in South Africa, has had a long, often difficult journey of gender self-discovery, identity and transformation. Axel Teichmann‘s art deals with identity and social change, among other things. Inspired by his art, Priyanka Ramdheen reads from the manuscript of her autobiography in progress and talks and discusses with its author Barbara Petermann about identity and the question of which narrative we have of ourselves when we tell about our own lives and which narrative is received. What of it is true and how far may one venture in order to penetrate the truthful?

Suddenly, in the gleam of his shining eyes, he saw her. Finally, perhaps for the first time in her life, she recognised herself in that mirror at that moment.

The girl in the mirror was me! And I knew I would become a woman.
