Art historian Katharina Schilling takes over as interim director of the Haus am Lützowplatz. She studied art history and linguistics at RWTH Aachen University and Freie Universität Berlin and completed her studies in 2008 with a master’s thesis on new approaches in contemporary documentary photography.

Dr. Marc Wellmann has been the artistic and commercial director of the Haus am Lützowplatz for 10 years. The Berliner Morgenpost recently dedicated a Berlin walk to him. He is now moving to Rome with his family as part of a one-year sabbatical. He will continue to work for the association on a limited basis during this time, but has relinquished his management responsibilities. We look forward to his return as Artistic Director on August 1, 2024.
Katharina Schilling has been working at the Haus am Lützowplatz since 2003, where she was involved in the exhibitions Chiharu Shiota: Raum (2005/2006), Birgit Brenner: Um Liebe geht es nicht (2009), Fabian Knecht with Uwe Flade, Tyler Friedman, Andreas Greiner, Raul Walch: Die letzten Grenzen fallen (2010), and curated the exhibition projects Cécile Colle}{Ralf Nuhn, DISTRACTION (2009), Jim Avignon: me and the establishment (2011). among others the exhibition projects Cécile Colle}{Ralf Nuhn, DISTRACTION (2009), Jim Avignon: me and the establishment (2011), Herakut: Jukebox kontrovers (2012) as well as the group exhibitions Habseligkeiten (2016), never mind the burnout (2022) and Back to the Future (2023). Under her curatorial direction, the group exhibition The Bad Mother, which takes a socio-critical look at expectations of mothers, will be shown starting in November 2023. Among other things, a solo exhibition of the Berlin-based Israeli artist Zohar Fraiman and a cooperation with n.b.k. are planned for next year.
