Jan Plewka, known as an actor and singer in the band Selig, is also a trained graphic designer and active as a painter. His works have been on display in the solo exhibition “Eine Art 4Room Show” at Berlin’s Q Gallery since December 2023. On 14 February 2024, Q Gallery invites you to the finissage of the exhibition with “A kind of artist talk” under the title: In the Name of Love. The evening will be organised as a symbiosis of art, poetry and music.

Jan Plewka has not only achieved fame on stage with his band Selig, but has also made a name for himself as an interpreter of Rio Reiser. He is also an impressive multi-faceted actor. But what many people don’t realise: Jan Plewka is also an artist who has a degree in graphics and design and has been drawing and painting for as long as he has been making music.
The turbulent times of the pandemic served Jan Plewka as a creative turning point that led him back to painting. QGallery Berlin presents the result of this creative period in this special exhibition.
Jan Plewka’s works move between raw art and abstract art, are intensely colourful and carry personal references. His poetry not only permeates the titles of his works, but also manifests itself in his typographic works.
