75 Berlin museums invite you to the Long Night of Museums. This year, they are drawing attention to the hidden and locked, the almost lost and the wicked: Paintings will be turned over and scrutinised, secret writings deciphered and finds from Berlin’s underground presented. In addition, doors are opened to museum rooms that are otherwise closed, to cellars and former hiding places, to air raid shelters and dark crypts.

One night, 750 events: Visitors can, for example, watch Warhol’s self-interrogations as a drag queen in the Neue Nationalgalerie, marvel at the incredible methods of the secret services in the German Spy Museum, be initiated into magical knowledge in the Neues Museum or listen to ghost stories from the Prussian palaces in Charlottenburg.

The later the night … Around midnight, special events provide further highlights. For example, the ghostly lecture in the lecture hall ruins, crime thrillers with the “Murderous Sisters”, puppet theatre, salsa party or voguing ball – sometimes spooky, sometimes poetic and sometimes wild.
