The Sophiensæle celebrate the premiere of the new performance by Henrike Iglesias & Miss Theatre from 28 September to 29 September 2024. AFTERLIVES is a collaboration with the Thai collective around the artist Miss Oat and numerous other contributors.

What parallel realities are conceivable? Where are we when we are not there? How do we have to meet in order to feel connected? And where do we come together to care for and mourn each other?
AFTERLIVES is a collaboration between the Thai collective Miss Theatre led by artist Miss Oat, the collective Henrike Iglesias and numerous other collaborators. Together they have created a multimedia, interactive performance that will take place simultaneously in Bangkok and Berlin. Together with the two groups of viewers, separated yet connected, they embark on a search for queer AFTERLIVES.
The theory of the multiverse, based on quantum theory, serves them as a metaphor, narrative device and source of inspiration to speculate about their own afterlives, queer politics of death and alternative forms of coexistence. In Bangkok and Berlin, the audience will gather in the theatre space and interact with the performance using their own smartphones. The smartphone becomes a portal that connects the spaces and the audience.
