This new festival puts Berlin puppetry students and their artistic signatures centre stage and presents diploma premieres, creations, work-in-progress presentations, co-productions and puppet karaoke – in all rooms of the Schaubude Berlin.

The PULS & PEILUNG festival offers students of the HfS Ernst Busch Berlin the freedom to further develop their artistic profile. The format is a snapshot of an extraordinary study programme and gives the audience an exclusive insight into the artistic work of young artists.

The festival shows works from the four years of the Contemporary Puppetry department: from self-developed creations from the first year to finished productions, some of which were created in cooperation with other theatres across Germany.

At PULS & PEILUNG, the audience experiences a variety of forms, themes and personalities, compactly bundled in a four-day programme with pieces that have not yet been shown publicly in Berlin. The majority of the works are aimed at an adult audience, while some are also aimed at children and families.
The proceeds from the festival will go towards the construction of a puppet for the HfS collection.
The design of this puppet will be on display in the foyer of the Schaubude Berlin.
