The Neue Nationalgalerie – Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz is organising a special edition of the Brazilian music festival Psicotrópicos in cooperation with Bossa FM. The festival will take place on Sunday, 27 July 2025, from 16:00 to 22:00 on the terrace of the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin.

The music programme includes contributions from six Brazilian artists and groups: Hermeto Pascoal, Jota.pê, Jéssica Gaspar, Letrux, Yoùn and Patricktor4. The selection unites different musical styles and generations of Brazilian music.
Programme overview:
- Hermeto Pascoal, 89-year-old composer and multi-instrumentalist, is known for his work with Quarteto Novo and Grupo. He has received several international awards.
- Jota.pê combines elements of Música Popular Brasileira with Manguebeat and has been releasing independent albums since 2020.
- Jéssica Gaspar works interdisciplinary with music, poetry and dance. Her artistic contributions reflect Afro-Brazilian cultural heritage.
- Letrux interprets her repertoire with reduced instrumental accompaniment in duo format (guitar and piano).
- Yoùn, a duo from Baixada Fluminense, combines various urban music styles with R&B, rap and soul.
- Patricktor4 works as a DJ and radio presenter and curates programmes on Brazilian tropical pop.

The festival is being realised in the context of the current special exhibition “Lygia Clark. Retrospective” is being realised. The exhibition can be seen at the Neue Nationalgalerie until 12 October 2025. It comprises around 120 works by the Brazilian artist Lygia Clark (1920-1988), including paintings, sculptures and interactive works from the years 1940 to 1988.

Visitors to the festival will receive a discounted exhibition ticket (10 euros) for the Lygia Clark exhibition on presentation of their Psicotrópicos ticket. Regular tickets for the music festival are available online for 35 euros. A box office will be set up while stocks last.

The event will take place in the outdoor area of the Neue Nationalgalerie – even if it rains. It is recommended that you bring weatherproof clothing. The culinary offer includes Brazilian food and drinks.
