The Museum Barberini now also offers two audio tours on Impressionism in Ukrainian on the free Barberini App. Oleksiy Makeiev, Ambassador of Ukraine in Berlin, and Kateryna Rietz-Rakul, Director of the Ukrainian Institute in Berlin, presented the new audio tours for adults and children at the Barberini Museum.

The translation was provided by the Embassy of Ukraine. The recording of the adult tour was recorded by the Ambassador and the Director of the Ukrainian Institute, the children’s tour was recorded with children of the Embassy staff. The Ukrainian audio tour project is under the patronage of Olena Selenska, wife of President Volodymyr Selenskyi.

Ambassador Oleksij Makeiev thanked the Museum Barberini for its commitment to making Ukrainian culture and language visible: “I am delighted that this wonderful museum now also speaks Ukrainian and I hope that my compatriots will discover the Impressionism collection with all its art-historical details”.

“Since the beginning of Russia’s war of aggression, the Museum Barberini has been involved in support campaigns for Ukraine. This includes the regular museum get-together for Ukrainian refugees with art tours and workshops. In this way, the Barberini expresses its solidarity with the people who have had to flee Ukraine,” explained Ortrud Westheider, Director of the Museum Barberini.

Under the patronage of Olena Selenska, audio guides are already available in Germany at Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam and Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin, as well as at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. Other museums in Germany will follow the example of Potsdam and Berlin and have their audio tours translated into Ukrainian, explained embassy councillor Alisa Podolyak during her visit to the Museum Barberini.

The Barberini app is your personal companion before, during and after your visit to the museum. It offers audio tours in different languages for adults and children, a children’s tour, texts in simple language, service information, event tips and videos with expert interviews. Available free of charge from the App Store and Google Play.
