New RuhrKultur.Card 2019 | One year of full cultural programme in the Ruhr region

20 museums, 11 theatres and three major cultural festivals in 16 cities – the RuhrKultur.Card brings together a diverse, cross-city cultural offering in the Metropole Ruhr. The RuhrKunstMuseen, the RuhrBühnen as well as the Ruhrtriennale, the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen and the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen are partners of the new culture card, which invites you to explore the cultural landscape of the Ruhr region with free admission and discounts.The RuhrKultur.Card is accompanied by a matching travel guide, the RuhrKultur.Guide. From January 1st to December 31st, 2019, the new annual card from Ruhr Tourismus offers one free admission to all 20 RuhrKunst museums and one half-price ticket to each of the 11 RuhrBühnen. In addition, the card offers a 50 percent discount on one performance ticket each for the Ruhrtriennale, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen and Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen festivals. Every ticket buyer also receives a free copy of the RuhrKultur.Guide, which guides them through the region’s cultural offerings. In addition to information on the participating RuhrKunstMuseen, RuhrBühnen and cultural festivals, the guide offers further recommendations in the categories “worth seeing”, “eating & drinking”, “staying overnight” and “also beautiful” for each city in which RuhrKultur.Card partners are located, rounding off cultural excursions in the Metropole Ruhr. In addition, insiders from the cultural sector reveal their personal hotspots and insider tips.

“The RuhrKultur.Card partners – 20 museums, 11 theatres, three festivals in 16 cities – offer an exciting and varied cultural programme all year round. With the new RuhrKultur.Card, we invite culture enthusiasts and those who would like to become one to explore culture on the Ruhr across cities,” explains Axel Biermann, managing director of Ruhr Tourismus GmbH.

The RuhrKultur.Card is aimed at culture enthusiasts from the region as well as culture and city travellers. Together with the accompanying cultural travel guide, it offers inspiration and orientation for cultural trips through the Metropole Ruhr. With the RUHR.TOPCARD, the WelcomeCardRuhr and the RuhrKultur.Card, Ruhr Tourismus GmbH offers three different leisure cards for the Metropole Ruhr and its visitors, inviting them to explore the Ruhr region across cities with different excursion destinations and discounts. The RUHR.TOPCARD has been successfully attracting families in particular to almost 100 leisure destinations with free admission for 14 years. The WelcomeCard Ruhr, which has been available for a few weeks now and can be used for 24, 42 or 78 hours to explore the Metropole Ruhr and a multitude of attractions at reduced prices with free travel on public transport, is primarily aimed at city travellers who spend several days in the region. The new RuhrKultur.Card is aimed in particular at culture enthusiasts from the Metropole Ruhr and invites them to take advantage of the Ruhr region’s multifaceted cultural offerings for one year.
