For the Conceptual Art Foundation (SKK) of the collector Carl-Jürgen Schroth in Soest, North Rhine-Westphalia, the makers of the Berlin gallery drj art projects have conceived the exhibition “Hartmut Böhm – System and Progression”. With a selection of works from five decades, it demonstrates Hartmut Böhm’s great artistic innovative power. The exhibition was curated by Christiane Bail and Matthias Seidel. The SKK – and thus also the exhibition – is located in the SCHROTH ROOM in the Wilhelm Morgner Museum in Soest.

Hartmut Böhm (*1938 in Kassel) occupies an independent position in the field of minimal conceptual art. Since the 1960s, he has been working in a pioneering way on its fundamental themes, such as the visualisation of universal laws, orders and systems. The artistic translation of these relationships into drawings, objects and three-dimensional works has shaped his multifaceted oeuvre. In addition to clarity of content and rationality, he imbues his works with both distinctive aesthetic qualities and a sensual appeal.
On Saturday, 13 November 2021, the opening took place in the SCHROTH ROOM in the Wilhelm Morgner Museum with an introduction by Matthias Seidel. The exhibition will be on display until 30 January 2022.
